PetroVietnam Fertilizer makes $36.5 million profit
PetroVietnam Fertilizer & Chemical Joint-Stock Co., Vietnam’s biggest fertilizer producer, estimates its pretax profit for the first half at VND650 billion (US$36.5 million).
That’s equivalent to 60 percent of the full-year target, the Ho Chi Minh City-based company said in an e-mailed statement on Friday after the close of the stock exchange. No comparable figures were given.
PetroVietnam Fertilizer is targeting pretax profit of about VND1 trillion ($56 million) this year, and revenue of more than VND5.8 trillion ($327 million).
First-half revenue was VND3.83 trillion ($216 million), or 66 percent of the year’s goal, the third-largest company listed on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange said.
Shares of PetroVietnam Fertilizer (stock code: DPM) have risen 33 percent this year, laggmig behmid a 51 percent advance in e VN-Index.
DPM fell 0.7 percent to VND45,900 Friday.
PetroVietnam Fertilizer produced about 400,000 metric tons of urea and imported more than 150,000 tons of other fertilizers between January and June, enough for the entire summer-autumn crop, the company said.
