Nestlé opens new bouillon cube plant
Switzerland-based nutrition, health and wellness company Nestlé Tuesday inaugurated its new Maggi bouillon cube production facility in Bien Hoa Industrial Zone II, southern Dong Nai Province.
The new factory will employ more than 140 people and is dedicated to meeting the growing consumer demand for products under Nestlé’s Maggi brand in Vietnam.
It will also export bouillon cubes to Cambodia and the Philippines, the company said, adding that the facility will enable the company to create and develop new innovative and healthy food solutions.
The plant opening took place during an official visit to Vietnam by Nestlé CEO Paul Bulcke.
“Vietnam has great advantages as a result of its young and dynamic population, an ever-expanding consumer market, and a favorable business environment. We have a long-term vision and a firm belief in the potential of the country,” Bulcke told Thanh Nien Daily Tuesday.
Between 1995 and 2009, Nestlé has tripled its capital investment in its Vietnam operations from about US$25 million to $75 million. Nestlé said about 848 jobs will be created in Dong Nai by 2010, fostering sustainable development in this southern province.
