Samsung exports first batch of made-in-Vietnam mobile phones
The first batch of 20,000 made-in-Vietnam mobile phones produced by the Vietnam Samsung Electronics Company has been shipped to Thailand, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates.
According to General Director of Samsung Vietnam, Yoo Young Bok, this batch included both low-cost and high-class products, which were newly-produced in Vietnam and favoured by many Vietnamese consumers.
Llocated in the Yen Phong I Industrial Zone in the northern province of Bac Ninh, Samsung Vietnam has increased its production output to serve both domestic and overseas markets. This is one of the seven largest mobile phone production plants of the Samsung Group.
With a capacity of 60 million products/year and a total investment capital of US$670 million, the plant is rated as one of the largest mobile phone producers in Vietnam, and generates jobs for more than 600 local workers.
