Ministry announces friendly tourism policies
Vietnam is developing new policies to promote local tourism, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Vinh Ai said at a recent forum held in Ho Chi Minh City.
Cars with 25 seats or more to be used for tourism purposes will be exempt from import tax; and entertainment services at four- and five-star hotels will be allowed to run until 2 a.m. instead of midnight, Ai said.
Shopping centers that refund value added tax (VAT) to tourists will be set up; and rest stations will be built along tourism routes nationwide, Ai said.
In Hanoi, tourist buses will be allowed on some major streets in peak times, he said.
