Industrial production gains momentum
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the country’s industrial production value in May reached more than VND56,000 billion, up 1.8 percent over April and 6.8 percent over the same month of last year.
Note of worth is that the increase has been seen in all three sectors: State-run, non-State and foreign-invested.
Despite a number of northern provinces experiencing a drop in industrial production value since early this year, they have now posted a modest growth.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade has asked businesses to make a greater effort to reach all the set targets while they are still facing difficulties in industrial production due to shrinking export market and unforeseeable price fluctuations in the domestic and world markets.
The Ministry has also requested the relevant agencies to gather more information from the provinces and craft associations to help enterprises iron out any snags in their production and business operations.
Every businesses needs to promote its marketing and advertising activities, boost the export of highly competitive goods, and implement effective solutions to stimulate domestic consumption needs, said the Ministry.
In addition, it has asked the Vietnam National Chemical Corporation and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) to closely follow market developments and provide more support to farmers through the Government’s stimulus packages.
