Investors plan thousands of houses for low-income residents

Fourteen investors have registered to build a total 85,000 houses in 17 projects for low-income residents, Nguyen Van Danh, the Deputy Director of the HCMC Department of Construction, said Saturday.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the Voice of HCMC in a program called “Conversation with city officials,” Danh said a couple of the projects would commence construction this June and some 6,000 houses would be brought onto the market next year.

Deputy Director of Dat Lanh Real Estate Company, Nguyen Van Duc, said bureaucracy is still a significant hindrance to investors in real estate.

The Ministry of Construction will soon issue criteria for identifying low-income residents, the HCMC Department of Construction said.
