Aquatic breeding animal center starts operation

Saigon Viet Long Fisheries Company on Friday opened an aquatic breeding animal center in Ho Chi Minh City to supply larvae to local farmers.

The VND36 billion project aims to produce 600 million freshwater fish and 25 million shrimp larvae per year.

The Cu Chi District project, worth the equivalent of about US$2 million, would also further aquatic research, said Saigon Viet Long.

The company, an affiliate of State-owned Saigon Agriculture Incorporation, has developed a similar project in Can Gio District to supply saltwater breeding animals.
