Vietnam to build seafood delivery networks abroad
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will build Vietnamese seafood delivery networks abroad as part of a strategy to develop the country’s seafood industry until 2020, heard a meeting in Hanoi Monday.
The strategy will require VND67 trillion (US$3.7 billion) to carry out 19 programs and projects aimed at producing 6.5 million tons of seafood and bringing in $7 billion annually in export revenues, while creating jobs for 5 million people in 2020.
The ministry plans to apply advanced technologies for raising, catching and processing seafood and establishing systems to trace origins of seafood products.
