Second turbine of Binh Dien hydro-electric power plant put into operation
The second turbine of the Binh Dien hydro-electric power plant will be put into official operation on night May 19 after 72 hours successful trial run.
The Binh Dien hydro-electric power plant has 2 turbines with a total capacity of 44 MW. The plant is invested by the Binh Dien hydro-electric power joint stock company under the BOO (build - own - operate) contract.
Once in operation, the plant not only generates electricity to the national grid but also helps Thua Thien – Hue province irrigate 11,600 hectares of farmland as well as reduces flood when the main crops come in Hue city area.
