PPC: Business result in April 2009

Pha Lai Thermal Joint-stock Company (PPC: PLPC) announces the business result in April 2009 as follows:

In April, the company’s machinery operation has been effective and stable. Therefore, the revenue from electricity production was highest from the beginning of the year 2009 (the growth of revenue included coal price increase).

1. Result of business operations in April 2009 (not including the profit from the exchange rate difference):

* Total  revenue in April 2009:        VND410,359.22 million

* Total expenses in April 2009:      VND298,327.47 million

* Profit before tax:            VND112,031.75 million

2. Total revenue of 2009 accumulated until April 30th 2009: VND396,295.63 million

3. Relative information:

* The debt in foreign currency until April 30th 2009: JPY35.278 billion.

* The exchange rate between VND and JPY disclosed by the State Bank of Vietnam on May 4th 2009: 175.2VND/JPY, decreasing by VND9.76 compared to the rate on December 31st 2008.
