Heavy engineering plant opens in Quang Ngai

A heavy engineering plant was inaugurated in the Dung Quat Industrial Zone in central Quang Ngai province on May 15 by the Doosan Vina Company, a subsidiary of the Republic of Korea’s (RoK) Doosan group.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai welcomed the Doosan group’s investment in a modern mechanical engineering plant in Quang Ngai, where Vietnam’s first oil refinery is being built.

He also praised the company’s efforts to implement the investment during the global economic recession.

For his part, the RoK ambassador to Vietnam Im Hong Jae said that the project will help to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The plant, on a 100 hectare site, began construction 27 months ago with a total investment of 300 million USD.

It currently employs and provides training for 1,700 local people.
