SBV Governor meets with WB’s Country Director in Vietnam
Governor Nguyen Van Giau of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), on April 21, had a meeting with Ms. Victoria Kwakwa, Country Director of the World Bank (WB) in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Governor Nguyen Van Giau expressed his sincere thanks and high appreciation for the WB’s support over the past years. He wished for further valuable assistance from the WB in the coming time. In addition, the Governor stressed that Vietnam would be determined to effectively implement and complete all the WB-financed projects in an effective and timely manner.
For her part, Ms. Victoria Kwakwa hoped that the SBV would speed up the implementation of the projects signed with WB, take initiative in seeking capital resources for projects in the following years as well as working out the roadmap of moving from International Development Association (IDA) loans to the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) fund. The WB’s Country Director in Vietnam also expressed her hope that the SBV would effectively implement “Financial sector modernization and information management system project” as a good example for other countries.
