Proposal of mobile ATMs not yet approved
The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Document 2271/NHNN-CNH, on April 2, to provide guidelines on ATM services in response to the report and proposal by the SBV branch in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Document affirmed that the SBV Governor has not approved the proposal of setting up mobile ATMs by commercial banks. In addition, the document reminds that Decision 13/2008/QD-NHNN of the SBV Governor dated April 29th, 2008 on operational network of commercial banks does not stipulate mobile ATMs.
The SBV branch in Ho Chi Minh City is responsible for guiding commercial banks in its location to strictly implement the above-mentioned regulation of the SBV Governor. It is also asked to inspect and instruct the Dong A Commercial Bank and other banks to immediately terminate their pilot mobile ATM operations and send report to the SBV Governor in a timely manner.
