Gold prices drop on domestic, world markets
International gold prices dropped below $900 per ounce on April 4, falling by $10 from the previous day.
On the same day, gold sold at VND19.65 million ($1125) per tael (1.3 ounces) and selling at VND19.69 million per tael on the black market in HCM City.
The gold price dropped VND80,000 per tael compared with the previous day but increased VND170,000 per tael overall compared with Monday.
The purchasing and selling prices of SJC gold was VND19.70 million per tael and VND19.72 million per tael respectively in Hanoi.
The Bao Tin Minh Chau Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company quoted a purchasing price of VND19.70 million per tael, down VND140,000, while the selling price was VND19.80 million per tael, down VND180,000.
Gold was traded at VND19.360 million per tael on the ACB gold trading floor and at VND19.365 million on the VGB floor.
The world’s gold price is still lower than the domestic price, by around VND200,000 per tael.
