Intel Chairman to visit Vietnam
The chairman of Intel, the world’s leading producer of semiconductors, Craig Barrett, will visit Vietnam from April 9-10 to attend a singing ceremony between Intel and Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training to institute an e-education programme.
During his two-day visit, Craig Barrett will meet with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and have meetings with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan, Minister of Information and Communications Le Doan Hop and a number of National Assembly leaders.
The Intel Chairman will also visit Ho Chi Minh City to present Intel scholarships to more than 20 outstanding students enabling them to study in the US. After training in the US, they are expected to work for Intel in Vietnam.
On the occasion, Craig Barrett will share his thoughts on the implementation of the government’s stimulus package, with a focus on the field of information and communications. He will also share his experiences on applying information technology to increase the national economy’s competitiveness.
