19th Asian Business Conference to take place in HCM City

The 19th Asian Business Conference will be held in HCM City from April 22-24, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Dung announced at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on April 9.

The conference will be jointly held by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Asia Society under the theme “Identifying Challenges to Asia, and Vietnam’s New Role.”

According to Dung, 700-800 delegates from the UN, Asia, organisations in the region, leading groups from around the world and Vietnam, and relevant Vietnamese ministries and agencies are expected to participate in the event.

They will discuss the global economic crisis and its long-term impacts on Asia and the world, the US’s economic and trade policies’ impacts on Asia, and ways to strengthen the global financial system.

Also on the agenda will be sustainable growth in Asia, the future of Asian cities, the capabilities of future generations of Asian businessmen, and the development of Asian enterprises with Vietnam.
