Two thirds of buyers check Internet first
The majority of buyers consult the Internet or are influenced by material published on it, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s E-commerce and Information Technology Agency’s deputy head Tran Huu Linh.
About 65 percent of people consult the Internet before deciding to buy products and nearly 30 percent who make a shopping decision are influenced by it, Linh said at an e-commerce conference in Ho Chi Minh City Thursday.
Many small and medium businesses, however, have yet to efficiently run e-commerce tools such as websites, emails and forums, according to Linh.
Forty-five percent of Vietnamese businesses already have a website and 35 percent of businesses earn more than 15 percent of revenues from e-commerce, he said.
