Young Vietnamese entrepreneurs contribute to preventing economic downturn

Young Vietnamese entrepreneurs gathered at a forum in Hanoi on March 20 to discuss measures to limit the negative impact of the global economic recession on the local economy.

Also present at the forum were representatives from the Governmental Office, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the General Department of Tax, economists and leaders of the Vietnam Youth Union Central Committee.

Participants focused their discussions on credit access in the framework of a demand stimulus package, tax reductions for businesses, administrative reform and the investment environment.

The forum created a venue for businesses and representatives from Government agencies and ministries to exchange information and views on implementing measures to prevent economic turndown. This was a foundation for the policy dialogue between young entrepreneurs and Government leaders to be held in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa at the beginning of April 2009.
