Tie-up with French region to boost Dong Nai food industry

Officials from France’s Bretagne region and Dong Nai Province signed an agreement Tuesday to develop animal husbandry and closed-food processing in the southern Vietnamese province.

It was signed in the presence of Bretagne President Jean -Yves Le Drian.

The French region will provide Dong Nai state-of-the-art technology and help it develop safety regulations and human resources.

Bretagne is home to more than 700 animal husbandry and food processing enterprises that produce nearly 1.2 million tons of pork and 620,000 chickens a year, earning annual revenues of €16.5 billion (US$21.5 billion).

Dong Nai is one of Vietnam’s animal husbandry and food processing hubs.
