Nobel prize winner to speak in HCMC economics seminar

The winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Economics Paul Krugman will be speaking in Ho Chi Minh City at an international seminar on May 21.

The “Searching for Solutions & Opportunities in a Time of Difficulty & Crisis” seminar will be held by the PACE Institute of Directors.

Krugman will provide insight into the global and regional economic prospects, with emphasis on the challenges facing the financial institutions, enterprises in the region and Vietnam.

He will also talk about solutions and reveal opportunities available to business leaders and policy makers.

Top business leaders, policy makers and economists in Vietnam and neighboring countries are expected to attend the event.

Paul Krugman is recognized as a distinguished professor of economics at Princeton University.
