ADB funds expressway project
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced on March 18 it would provide a soft loan worth 410 million USD for the construction of a 51km-long express road in the southern province of Dong Nai.
ADB said it will sign an agreement to this effect with the State Bank of Vietnam on March 20.
Once completed in 2011, the project will facilitate traffic to and from the Long Thanh international airport in Dong Nai province, which is touted as a replacement of Tan Son Nhat airport in HCM City.
The Vietnam Expressway Investment and Development Company estimated the total cost of the road at 9.89 trillion VND (roughly 583 million USD), adding the remaining investment would come from the Japanese International Cooperation Bank (JICB)./.
