KLS: Explanations for 2008 financial statement

Kim Long Securities Corporation explained the Financial Statement in brief QIV - 2008 as follows:

1. About the adjustment of accounting books: Circular No.95/2008/ TT-BTC on 24/10/2008 of Ministry of Finance specified the accounting system applied to securities companies which became effective in QIV-2008. So, the company’s Q.IV/2008 and 2008 financial statement was stated in accordance with the accounting instruction applied to this circular, in which Q.III/2008 and 2007 items used for comparison purpose were adjusted likewise.

2.  About 2008 business results: The company bore a loss of VND 347,442,933,183 mainly due to sharp decline of the stock market. The decline negatively impacted on business results of securities companies in general and Kim Long Securities Corporation as well, especially proprietary trading activity. Besides, the company stepped up sale of stock and restructured the investment portfolio in QIV/2008.
