Export tax on coal halved
Vietnam will halve its tax on coal exports to 10 percent this month, the Ministry of Finance said.
The new tariff takes effect February 15 following a decision approved Thursday by the ministry.
Vietnam, seeking to boost exports as part of measures to avert an economic slowdown, plans to ship 19.5 million tons of coal in 2009. China is Vietnam’s biggest buyer of coal.
