What do the ‘top 500’ businesses say?
The enterprises in ‘top 500’ all believe that VNR500 reflects a true picture of Vietnamese enterprises.

The VNR500 proves to truly reflect the picture of enterprises in Vietnam. All the enterprises are big ones, which have real strength on the market. We are proud to see our name among the list, which means that our achievements have been recognized.
I wish the VNR500 organization board would pay more attention to business quality and efficiency. Currently, the VNR500 ranks businesses in accordance with the turnover, but we should also consider the efficiency of businesses’ operation, which can bring profit to businesses.

There were so many difficulties during the last year, but we luckily crossed the sea safely. It was because our business results were very good in the first three quarters of the year. We only met difficulties in the last quarter. However, as we anticipated the difficulties, we did not suffer big losses.
However, I know the national economy is facing big difficulties and businesses became pessimistic. Therefore, I can say that the VNR500 event was organized at a suitable moment. We feel encouraged with the recognition of our achievements, so that we can continue with our agenda and overcome challenges.
At the forum we listened to the analysis of leading economists, which proved to be very useful for us. And I believe that there is no need to be too pessimistic about 2009.

As a big enterprise, the challenges and pressure on us are bigger and harder than that on smaller enterprises. A series of big economies have fallen into recession, which has had bad impacts on the capital flow into Vietnam. T&T Group has relations with many foreign partners; and therefore difficulties prove to be unavoidable.
In order to deal with the difficulties, we have been focusing on the domestic market. Though the purchasing power remains modest, in the long term, a market with a population of 85 million should not be ignored.

This is the second time our company is listed among the top 500. This is really a surprise for us as our ranking has been improved, from 200th to 164th.
I said ‘surprise’ because the organization board did not inform us before. The enterprises presented here today did not know beforehand that their names were listed in top 500. We were not asked to pay any money for the listing. I think that the VNR500 can truly reflect the picture of the Vietnam’s businesses.
