Phu My plant marks 3 millionth tonne of fertiliser

The Phu My Fertiliser Factory, a subsidiary of the PetroVietnam Fertiliser and Chemicals Corp, produced the 3 millionth tonne of nitrogenous fertiliser on Jan. 6, after four years of operation.

Located in the southern oil-rich province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau , the locally-invested plant has been using technologies imported from Denmark and Italy to produce ammoniac and urea.

In 2008, the factory fulfilled the target of 740,000 tonnes of nitrogenous fertiliser. The figure is expected to increase to 750,000 tonnes this year.
