Exporters urged to watch Malaysian contracts

Vietnamese seafood exporters have been asked to pay more attention to payment conditions in dealing with Malaysian importers who are facing difficulties caused by the global economic recession.

The warning was issued Wednesday by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The ministry’s Department for Asia-Pacific Region said some Malaysian enterprises that imported raw materials from Vietnam for export purposes were facing difficulties in payment as orders from the European and American markets were falling and Malaysian banks were tightening lending.
