World hotel brand franchised in Vietnam
The Westin Hotels & Resorts Worldwide on Saturday reached a brand franchise agreement with Vietnam’s Phat Dat Real Estate Development Corporation to develop a resort in Cam Ranh Bay in Khanh Hoa Province.
Phat Dat will invest US$100 million in the five-star beach-front resort project. Construction is expected to begin next year, with the hotel to open its doors in 2012.
The new Westin resort will be 35 kilometers from the central Vietnamese coastal tourist town of Nha Trang.
The Westin Hotels and Resorts brand is Starwood group's upscale luxury hotels and resorts brand. It has other hotel projects in the pipeline in Hoi An and Nha Trang.
