Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (VYEO) congress closes
The National Congress of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (VYEO) closed on December 14 after two days of working.
Mr Vo Quoc Thang, CEO of Dong Tam Joint Stock Company, head of Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs' Organisation was elected as VYEO president, the third term.
In the congress resolution, delegates set a target to expand the organisation network to a national scale, attract more young entrepreneurs to be its members and provide supports to and protection of the legitimate rights of its members.
Addressing the congress, Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung appraised the development in both quality and quantity of young entrepreneurs and their organisation over the past 15 years, making great contributions to national socio-economic development.
He stressed that young entrepreneurs were the main force in the country’s renovation process and a vital force in international economic integration.
The deputy PM urged young entrepreneurs to make greater efforts to help accelerate national economic development.
Deputy PM Hung and leaders of relevant ministries and sectors had a frank dialogue with attending young entrepreneurs on such issues as providing financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises, boosting administrative reform to facilitate the operation of businesses, supporting Vietnamese businesses in their investment abroad, and others.
On December 13, seven young entrepreneurs were presented with Red Star Awards, in recognition of their great achievements in business activities and contributions to humanitarian activities. These seven Red Star winner-businesses reported a total revenue in 2007 of VND 7.2 trillion, contributing VND 351 billion to the State budget and providing jobs for 7.500 workers.
The VYEO has so far had over 7,000 members and its network covers 52 provinces and cities.
