FPT lists 46mil new shares for Friday trading
The State Securities Commission (SSC) on Tuesday approved the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT) to list additional shares and they will start trading from tomorrow.
The corporation will list more than 46 million shares on the HCM City Stock Exchange (HOSE) with a total value of VND465.9 billion (US$27.7 million).
According to the FPT, the corporation still retained a high growth rate in revenue and profit in the first 11 months of this year compared with last year, despite the world economic recession and its effects on the national economy.
FPT's business did well especially in traditional lines such as: Integration Systems, Software Outsourcing, Telecommunications, Education and Distribution.
The corporation gained a total revenue of $919 million and a pre-tax profit of $97.1 million in the first 11 months. Those figures increased 26.4 per cent in revenue and 24 per cent in pre-tax profit over the same period last year.
With business results in the first 11 months, the FPT was going to end a successful year and expected to reach the landmark revenue of $1 billion for the year, the corporation said.
The corporation was granted a new business licence last Friday to change its English name to FPT Corporation.
This week, FPT announced a new general director, Nguyen Thanh Nam, who is replacing Truong Gia Binh. From next year, Truong Gia Binh will still retain his position as the chairman of the board. Earlier, Truong Gia Binh held both positions.
Nam has a lot of experience in software trading and export and globalisation, so the FPT expects he will be prove an excellent leader in the coming years.
