Gas import tariff increased to 5%
The Ministry of Finance on November 10 issued a decision to increase the import tariff for gas from the current 0% to 5%.
The decision has been made as the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on the global market keeps reducing.
Specifically, crude oil gas and other hydrocarbon gas which has been liquefied will be subject to 5% import tariff. The tariff for non-liquefied crude oil gas and hydrocarbon gas is 1%.
The decision will become valid 15 days since it is published on the Official Gazette.
Earlier, in the first months of the year, the sharp increase of the world crude oil prices contributed to the increase in the prices of imported gas (LPG) as well as the domestic retail gas prices. In order to stabilise the prices, the Ministry of Finance lowered the import tariff for gas from 5% to 0%.
