US businesses to seek cooperation opportunities in Vietnam

A delegation of US leading businesses in production, investment, export and import and distribution will make a fact-finding tour to Vietnam from Oct. 6 to 14 to seek cooperation opportunities.

According to the US-Vietnam Commerce Chamber, the US businesses aime to meet and introduce their products and services to potential Vietnamese partners through the tour as well as consider the purchase of Vietnamese high-quality goods.

During their stay, the US businesses plan to take part in the International Furniture and Handicraft EXPO 2008 to be held in Ho Chi Minh City .

They will also participate in a round-table discussion on investment and visit several export processing zones.

The US is currently Vietnam ’s largest importer and third largest trade partner. Bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached 12.53 billion USD last year, a year-on-year increase of 26 percent.
