First business granted WHO’s GMP certificate in pharmaceutical materials

The Health Ministry on Oct. 18 presented the Good Manufacture Practice (GMP) of the World Health Organisation to the Sao Kim Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.

The Sao Kim Company becomes the first Vietnamese business meeting the standards of GMP/WHO in pharmaceutical materials, thus making a breakthrough in the country’s pharmaceutical sector.

The company has received all certificates of GMP for both materials and products as well as Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Safety Practice (GSP) of the WHO.

Sao Kim company is specialised in the production of materials for malaria medicines. Its products made from the local plant “Thanh hao hoa vang” (Artemesia) have met the domestic demand for malaria drug production and have been exported to many countries.
