Economics Nobel Prize winner to deliver address on Vietnam’s economy

Nobel Prize winner in Economics Paul Krugman will deliver a presentation at a conference titled “Vietnam and East Asia in a Globalised Context” to explore the economic and social challenges that the country may encounter.

The conference, scheduled to take place in the US’s Princeton University on October 17 and 18, will focus on country’s fiscal needs and the challenges it will face. The Nobel Prize winner is expected to point out measures for Vietnam to address the challenges it will likely face in future.

Mr Krugman, a professor of economics and international affairs at the Princeton University and a columnist for the New York Times, was just awarded the Nobel Prize worth US$1.4 million for his contributions to bringing commercial models into life. Mr Krugman is known for having accurately predicted the financial crisis of 1997.
