Da Nang to be advertised on Kawasaki TV channel
The Kawasaki Television Channel will help introduce Da Nang City as a tourist and business destination to the Japanese people by showing images of Da Nang on its channel once every month. The Da Nang Culture Day will be organized in Kawasaki City in the time to come.
On October 15, at the working session with leaders of Da Nang City, Hiroshi Nishioka, Chairman of the Kawasaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Senior Advisor to Toshiba Group, said that with the good relations between Vietnam and Japan and between Kawasaki and Da Nang City, which has been built up over the last one year since the signing of the economic cooperation agreement between the two cities, Kawasaki will help popularize Da Nang’s images on the city’s TV channel once a month.
At the working session, the delegation of 33 enterprises from Kawasaki expressed their interest in making investments in Da Nang City. Kawasaki will help Da Nang in building the ‘environment city’, exchange experience with Da Nang in investment promotion and help develop the Hoa Khuong high-tech zone.
Mr. Nishioka said that Kawasaki now has KSP, the high tech park. After the two cities agree on the cooperation items, the Japanese side will share the experience of managing KSP with Da Nang.
The enterprises from Kawasaki have highly appreciated the investment promotion activities which Da Nang has been carrying out to exploit its advantage of being located on the East West Economic Corridor. The fact that Da Nang has been recognized by the Japan External Trade Organisation as one of the 30 cities in Asia which have comparative investment advantages has been drawing special attention from the Japanese investors.
Luong Minh Sam, Director of the Da Nang Foreign Affairs Department, said that since the beginning of 2008, the Da Nang representative office in Tokyo has received 60 Japanese delegations with 300 entrepreneurs, who came to seek to understand about the Da Nang’s investment environment. The businesses include big groups like Konica and Sozit.
35 Japanese enterprises have made investments in Da Nang City with the total investment capital of USD$207mil. The projects are mostly in the industrial production (electronics accessories assembling, sports instruments and software), creating 12,000 jobs.
