DST International starts online trading
With the targeted deadline of December 15 for online trading at the HCM City Stock Exchange (HOSE) rapidly approaching, London-based DST International (DSTi) introduced a new trading solutions suite with a fully integrated front-to-back office system last week.
Anurug Ruangrub, DSTi general director for Thailand and Viet Nam, said the online trading solution can interface to stock exchange systems, providing a more direct processing environment.
The suite features various modules of equities and derivatives trading solutions, Internet trading solutions, and back office solutions for trading and banking adaptors.
Two of its key features are an ability to send 49 orders per second to the exchange and give brokers access to real-time information.
Online trading would give investors a more transparent and equal opportunity, and reduce trading fees since companies could lower their operating costs, said Nguyen Thanh Phong, deputy general director for Sacombank Securities Company, which is employing the solution.
Meanwhile, the stock exchange would be able to improve liquidity, save more space required for representatives of securities firms at the exchange, and ensure a level playing field for both new and established securities companies, said Phong.
The online solutions would also facilitate the exchange in monitoring market participants’ compliance with regulations and integrating with other exchanges.
It will take a securities company around 30 days to bring the solutions into operation.
According to HOSE deputy general director Nguyen Manh Hung, the exchange is conducting a second trial connecting 65 securities firms with HOSE’s online trading system. Twenty five other companies took part in the first trial. Information on which companies will be able to connect to the online system will be posted in mid-November.
