Vietnam Airlines reduces fuel surcharge

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has decided to reduce fuel surcharges by between 10,000-30,000 VND on each ticket for 14 domestic air routes as of September 4.

The airlines said, the act was a response to the world fuel prices’ drop to around 110 USD per barrel.

Under the decision, the fuel surcharge will be cut down by 30,000 VND to 150,000 VND for each one-way ticket for eight routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City , Nha Trang, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot and Can Tho; and from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong, Vinh and Dong Hoi.

For each one-way ticket from Hanoi to Da Nang and Hue , and from Ho Chi Minh City to Hue , Da Nang , Pleiku and Chu Lai, the surcharge will be 100,000 VND, or 10,000 VND lower than the current.

Earlier, the airlines added fuel surcharges of 50,000-180,000 VND per domestic one-way ticket as of August 15 due to high fuel prices in line with the Finance Ministry’s permission.

The Jetstar Pacific has also announced its plan to reduce fuel surcharges in coming days.
