Stock exchanges continue gains
Vietnam ’s stock market continued its buoyant momentum from last week’s final trading session, with both the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City bourses registering increases by the close of business on September 22.
The VN-Index of the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange increased 20.8 points or 4.74 percent against the previous trading session to close at 459.86.
Almost all stocks gained at the session, except for two losers; PVT of PetroVietnam Transportation Corp. and SGC of the Sa Giang Import-Export Corp.
The HaSTC-Index of the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre rose 4.70 points or 3.22 percent to 150.44.
Market watchers cited the recovery of the world stock market along with Vietnam ’s positive economic results, including the slowdown of inflation, as factors underlying the good performance of the Vietnamese stock exchanges.
