Russia regards Vietnam as trust partner
Vietnam is considered Russia’s trust partner with many prospects in Asia-Pacific region, said local media on September 14 on the occasion of Russia’s visit by Vietnamese deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem.
The development of the strategic partnership between Russia and Vietnam is based on the foundation of trust and respect among the people of the two countries, which have been tested through time and reinforced with practical interests, according to the Voice of Russia.
The two countries have been coordinating actively on the international arena as well as in the framework of the United Nations, and bilateral relations have developed multilaterally, especially “economic diplomacy”, the Radio said, adding that cooperation between the two countries in trade and investment has also been strengthen.
The radio quoted Vietnam’s statistics as saying that the two-way trade exceeded 1 billion USD in the January-July period and is expected to reach a record high of 1.6 billion USD by the end of this year.
The two countries are also cooperating actively in oil and gas exploration and truck assembly, the radio said, citing President Nguyen Minh Triet’s saying in his letter on the occasion of the 50th year of the foundation of Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association that Vietnam commits to develop friendly and traditional relationship with Russia.
