Pilipino businesses to survey Vietnam market

Representatives from 25 companies in the Philippines will visit Ho Chi Minh City from October 6-9 to conduct market research and meet with local businesses, the city’s Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) said.

The trip is co-organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines, the Philippines’ Ministry of Trade and Industry and ITPC.

The businesses are interested in developing trade opportunities in coffee, garments and cosmetics, among other products, ITPC said.

They will meet with local enterprises at the Palace Hotel in HCMC on October 7, and participate in the HCMC International Furniture and Handicrafts Fair 2008 the following day.

Vietnam and the Philippines aim to boost bilateral trade to US$2 billion by 2010, from $1.28 billion last year.
