Nokia, local distributor enhance cooperation

Mobile phone maker Nokia and its official distributor in Vietnam Thursday signed a memorandum to enhance the partnership between the two companies by the end of 2009.

According to the memorandum, Hanoi-based FPT Corporation will expand its Nokia mobile phone distribution networks in Vietnam and Nokia will help FPT to provide wifi services and online media.

The Finnish mobile phone maker has also promised to support FPT University as well as sponsor FPT’s annual Mobi Labs contest that encourages Vietnamese young people to create new mobile applications.

Vietnamese firm FPT Corporation’s businesses include mobile telephone and computer distribution, internet services and software development.
