Nearly 300 hotels reach 3-5 star standard

Vietnam has more than 8,500 hotels and guest-houses, including nearly 300 hotels of 3-5 star standard, according to statistics conducted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

The figure was released at an international seminar entitled “modern hotel management and hotel technology” held in the Central City of Da Nang on September 17.

Present at the seminar were Amnada See, director for Asia-Pacific development of SynXis-Sabre Group, Noel Brahe, General Director of the Southeast Asia D’mention Company, and representatives from more than 50 hotels and travel agents in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Thua Thien – Hue.

The VNAT said the hotel occupation rate in the central region is just 50 percent, much lower than in other regions. Therefore, Vietnamese hotels should accelerate the application of advanced technology to save running costs.
