Measures to further control milk products

The Ministry of Public Health has reported to the Prime Minister on urgent measures to further control milk products and products made of milk material in the domestic market.

Accordingly, for the immediate, the Ministry will co-ordinate with relevant ministries, branches and localities to further inspect and monitor on the milk market, monitor international supply sources of milk producers, importers and distributors.

The melamine contaminated milk products and milk products without origin will be seized and destroyed.

Any milk products which have been imported from the 22 Chinese companies whose products were found contaminated with melamine will be destroyed.

Enterprises should present a qualitative test certificate of confirming no melamine for any imported batch of milk products and semi-manufactured products.

The Ministry also proposed measures to prevent from transporting melamine contaminated milk products through borders between Vietnam and China.
