The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) will make 33,000 billion VND (2.1 billion USD) available as loans for small and medium-sized businesses in the 2008-2010 period.

The loans, which accompany soft interest rates, aim to help businesses overcome difficulties resulting from high inflation, a bank official said.

The announcement was made on September 15 at a ceremony to mark the 5 th anniversary of BIDV’s Hanoi branch.
