Vietnam’s images stand out in Berlin international beer festival
A lively space symbolized by Khue Van Cac (constellation of literature - a cultural symbol of Vietnam: a gathering pavilion for traditional intellectual) in harmony with art performances provided the background of Vietnam's delegation.
Vietnamese beer and food and the showcase of crafts and art works in such a background made Vietnam stand out at the Berlin International Beer Festival, held from August 1-3, Lao Dong reports.
Beer lovers worldwide were invited to experience "The longest beer garden in the world covering 2km of Karl Marx Allee in the center of Berlin. The three-day festival drew the participation of over 250 beer firms from over 100 worldwide countries, showcasing about 2,000 kinds of beer.
Germany-based HM SKY Co. and Viethaus Kooperation AG Co. were the two representatives of Vietnam's exported Saigon red-label and Saigon 333 beer products at the festival. This was the eighth time Vietnam had attended this German beer festival.
Nguyen Xuan Hung, chairman of Viethaus, said that its aim is to advertise Vietnam's beer products to international friends in specific.
Vietnam occupied the largest exhibition area for many booths and a small stage next to Khue Van Cac, where singing and dancing performances attracted many foreign visitors.
International visitors not only ha4.the opportunity to access Vietnam's well-known types of beer, but also enjoy Vietnamese traditional special dishes and Trung Nguyen (Central Highlands) coffee.
Besides international visitors, overseas - Vietnamese in Germany also gathered at Vietnam area. This was a chance for them to taste something from their faraway homeland.
The organizers of the festival are planning to theme Vietnam's beer for the 2010 beer festival to commemorate the 10th times Vietnam has participated in the festival and the 35th anniversary of bilateral relationships. The German Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises also plans to hold a German beer festival in Vietnam in the same year.
