Japan funds school construction, training equipment

The Japanese Government has pledged to grant US$172,000 in total to help build a primary school and provide vocational training equipment for the northern province of Phu Tho.

Under a contract signed on August 18, US$88,488 will be spent on a two-storey primary school with 10 classrooms on a 750 sq.m. compound and US$83,500 will help equip the Phu Tho Vocational College with welding machines to meet an increasing demand for workers of this job.

The project will improve the teaching quality of the college, which is intended to train skilled workers for enterprises, including those with Japanese investment, in the midland province.

Japanese Ambassador Sakaba said at the signing ceremony that development aid is expected to promote the friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Japan.
