ASEAN Forum on Coal meeting held in Ha Long

The sixth meeting of the ASEAN Forum on Coal (AFOC) was held in Ha Long city on August 18.

The participants reviewed the exploitation and use of coal in each member countries over the past years and assessed the implementation of the AFOC plan of action on energy cooperation in the 2004-2009.

They also shared experiences and put forth initiatives in carrying out coal projects.

AFOCO agreed to boost cooperation in the tapping, trading, processing and utilising of coal in the coming years.

Besides representatives from Indonesia , Laos , Malaysia , the Philippines , Singapore , Thailand and Vietnam , Japanese delegates also attended the meeting.
