VN-Index exceeds 400-point mark as majority of stocks hit ceiling prices
The domestic stock market continued its recovery trend as the VN-Index continued its seventh consecutive increase today, closing above the 400-point mark.
Right in the first phase of today's trading session, signals for a continued recovery of the market were clear as majority of stocks listed on the southern bourse were in the list of gainers with many large-cap stocks in this list. Ending the first session, over 2.27 million units were matched for VND 55.7 billion.
The situation continued till the end of the session. The VN-Index closed up 10.21 points (2.55%) at 409.61 with 150 out of the 157 listed stocks reported gains, almost all of them hitting ceiling prices, three stocks staying unchanged and four others dropping.
Total market trading volume was nearly 9.3 million units traded worth VND 224 billion, including 8.9 million units worth VND 215 billion changing hands via order matching.
STB topped the list of most traded stocks with 1.2 million units changing hands, followed by ALP, BBC, BF1 and VNE.
The HASTC-Index of the Hanoi Securities Trading Centre also witnessed an increase of 2.06% or 2.32 points to close at 114.99 points. 117 listed stocks on the bourse were gainers while there were only 12 losers, five others stayed still and eight reported no trade. Buying orders outstripped selling ones, thus ending the session, there were many buying orders remained.
As many as 3.85 million shares were traded this session for VND 74 billion.
