Vietnamese SMEs confident of economic growth: HSBC survey
The latest survey by HSBC Bank showed that 67 percent of Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) believed that the economy will maintain the current growth space or achieve an even higher rate.
The results of the survey, conducted in the 2 nd quarter of this year in 10 countries and territories in the Asian-Pacific region including Vietnam , were announced in Ho Chi Minh City on July 16.
Among 300 Vietnamese SMEs surveyed, 54 percent plan to increase or maintain their investment level in the remaining months of this year; and 44 percent plan to recruit more workers. Vietnamese SMEs are also optimistic about the prospect for trade with China and other countries in the region and the world.
Regarding the results, Huynh Buu Quang, Head of HSBC Commercial Banking in Vietnam said: “It’s heartening to see that while dealing with many difficulties, Vietnamese SMEs appear to be very proactive and have positive attitude through continuous investing, recruiting and having high confidence in prospects of international trade.
