Chinese commodities fair to open in capital

The second Chinese Commodities (Vietnam) Fair 2008, which runs from July 10-13, will have around 250 stalls and is expected to attract some 50,000 local and overseas visitors, mainly from Southeast Asia, said chairman of the China Trade Union He Qihai.

The fair will occupy around one ha in the Hanoi Friendship Cultural Palace .

Typical products on show at the four-day fair will be household electronic appliances, power-looms, hand-held tools, garments and textiles.

Qihai added that Chinese enterprises would study the local investment environment to develop markets and boost business cooperation.

The annual fair is presided over by the China Trade Union and the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade.

China is one of Vietnam ’s largest trade partners, with bilateral turnover expected to reach 15 billion USD by 2010.

The fair is co-organised by the Gallery of China Trade Union, Viet Nam National Trade Fair and Advertising Co (Vinexad) and Asian Capital Ltd Co,.
