ALT: Explanation for profit in Q2/08

ALTA Company (ALTA) has explained increase of profit in Q2/08 as follows:

Profit after tax in Q2/08 increased 10.5% compared to Q1/08 and 184.7% compared to the same period last year.

Reasons:

Production of exporting plastic bags in Q2/08 was stable and grown well although the economy had many disadvantages. In addition, the company has signed some big contracts of bag supply with partners such as supermarket system in HCMC and other provinces national wide.

In the progress of upgrading a factory of paper bags to meet the need of the market. Because price of liquidating old printers was higher than its book value, other profits increased compared to that in the previous quarter.

The cinema of Suoi Tien ALTA 4D MAX brought profit in Q2/08.
